Abby Reisman is an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. Abby’s research centers on the challenges of teaching document-based historical inquiry. She investigates the design and implementation of curriculum materials, assessments of student learning, teacher education, and professional development experiences that support document-based analysis and classroom discourse. As a consultant on the BKBB project, Abby advised on the design of curricular resources and writing supports for college students. Abby holds that this project underscores the value of forging partnerships between archives and history classrooms, and she hopes it can serve as a model for how such collaborations might be structured across sites.
